Field Wizard vs CompanyCam

CompanyCam is the best way to photograph a jobsite. Field Wizard is how you capture the numbers beside the pictures — readings, pass/fail, quantities, a signature — and turn them into a document and an invoice.

Written by us. So every line below either links to somewhere you can check it, or says plainly that CompanyCam wins it.

What CompanyCam is

Jobsite photo documentation for contractors, and the best-loved product in this comparison. Photos organized by project automatically, annotated, shared with the homeowner, turned into reports. Crews adopt it without being made to, which is rare and worth respecting.

Where Field Wizard is different

Each of these is something you can confirm, not something you have to take on faith.

Field Wizard is the structured-data side of the same jobsite. A photo here sits inside a form that also holds readings, pass/fail logic, calculations and a signature, and comes out as one branded PDF.

What a form holds →

That form is tied to the rest of the job — the customer record, the parts used, the estimate and the invoice.

If you already run CompanyCam, our API and webhooks are how you keep it. A submission can fire an event the moment it lands.

Where CompanyCam beats us

If this section were empty you would be right not to believe the rest of the page.

  • For photographs, they are better than us, and it is not close. We have photo fields on a form with time and location stamps. We do not have photo annotation, project galleries, before-and-after comparison, or anything like their automatic organization of thousands of site photos.
  • Crew adoption is their whole design. If your problem is that nobody documents anything, a camera app people actually open beats a form nobody fills in.

Which one you should pick

Choose CompanyCam if

  • The job to be done is 'photograph the site properly and keep it organized'. That is their product and they are excellent at it.
  • Your crews will not fill in forms, and photos are the realistic ceiling on what you will get from them.

Choose Field Wizard if

  • You need the numbers as well as the pictures — readings, measurements, pass/fail, quantities, a signature.
  • The output has to be a document: a branded PDF a customer, a warranty claim or an auditor will accept.
  • You want the same record to reach an invoice without being re-typed.
