Creating and assigning a job
A job is the unit everything else hangs off: who is going, where, and what paperwork comes back.
Making one
On the Schedule, choose Create New Job. What matters:
- Customer — pick from your customer list rather than typing a name, so the
job is attached to the account and shows up in that customer's history.
- Address — where the work is.
- Description and notes — what the technician needs to know before they
arrive.
- Priority — Normal or Urgent.
Attaching the paperwork
The Job Packet is the set of forms that must come back from this visit. Attach them here and they arrive on the technician's device with the job, so nobody has to hunt for the right form on site.
A job with no forms attached is just a calendar entry. The packet is the point.
Assigning it
Assign to a person or leave it unassigned on the board. When you assign, the suggestion is explained rather than magic — who is closest, who has the right skills, who is already loaded. You can always override it.
What the technician sees
The job appears in their hub with the address, the notes and the packet. They work through the forms and submit. Submissions come back attached to the job, so the record and the visit are the same thing rather than two things to reconcile later.
Still need help?
Email Support@gofieldwizard.com and a person will answer — include your company name and, if it's about a particular form or job, its name.
