Managing your parts list
Your parts list is live reference data, not a spreadsheet somebody exported last quarter. Forms read it when a technician opens them.
Getting parts in
Inventory → Import Inventory takes a CSV — drop the file or browse for it — or a Google Sheets URL. Map your columns to ours on the way in; you do not have to rename anything in your own file.
If you would rather see the shape before committing your data, seed the sample parts list for your trade from Settings. It gives you 25 parts that make sense for your industry, and you can delete them later without touching anything real.
The fields that matter
- On hand — current stock.
- Reorder at — the level that triggers a low-stock alert.
- Price and cost — what you charge and what it cost you.
- Category — what the inventory dashboard groups by.
You can add your own columns beyond these. Every business tracks something we did not think of.
Stock that keeps itself
A form with a parts field deducts what a technician records, at the moment they submit. Stock is a by-product of the work rather than a second job somebody does on Friday.
Editing
The Inventory page is the dashboard — value by category, low-stock list, totals. Day-to-day editing happens in the grid, under Live Data, where you can sort, filter and bulk-edit like a spreadsheet.
