Working the schedule board

The board is the day at a glance: what is scheduled, what is unassigned, and who has what.

Reading it

Jobs are grouped by status — Unassigned and Scheduled — and by the person they belong to. Urgent jobs are marked so they do not get lost in a full day.

Assigning from the board

Drag a job onto a person, or open it and assign. The suggestion engine ranks who to send using distance, the skills the job needs, and how loaded each person already is — and it shows its reasoning, so you can disagree with it on the evidence rather than on a hunch.

Skills

Jobs can require skills, and people have them. If a job needs a licence or a certification, put it on the job and the board stops suggesting people who do not have it.

What it does not do

It does not track anyone's location continuously. Position is captured when a form records it, on the form, and not otherwise.
